SQL1397N The Db2 service failed to logon.

I always install a free version of Db2 on my laptop so I can play a bit in a really safe environment without breaking the real ones.

Db2 Express-c has been replaced by the Db2 Community Edition

So a few days ago I tried to start my Db2 instance for testing and I got the following error.

      SQL1397N The Db2 service failed to logon.

And to be honest it took me a while to realize the problem was the Db2 service.

So we go to Windows Services -> Right Click on the Db2 service -> Properties -> Log On.

Once the password was updated, we could start the Db2 service.

D:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2start
01/04/2021 10:28:24     0   0   SQL1063N  DB2START processing was successful.
SQL1063N  DB2START processing was successful.
